Kingpin Skateboarding Magazine
Publication Design
Kingpin Magazine, a California-based skateboard magazine that embodies the spirit and grit of the skateboarding community. The goal was to develop a bold, raw design that resonates with skaters and street culture enthusiasts.
I used edgy, graffiti-inspired typography to capture the rebellious essence of skateboarding. The color scheme draws on urban tones—grays, blacks, and bursts of vibrant color—giving the magazine a gritty yet energetic vibe. Layouts and visuals emphasize movement and action, with a focus on dynamic photography and rugged textures that mirror the skateboarding lifestyle. This design approach positions Kingpin Magazine as an authentic voice in skate culture, appealing to readers who live and breathe skateboarding.
